The Diamond Valley Bench draws its name and inspiration from the Town of Diamond Valley – formed in 2023 through the historic amalgamation of the neighbouring communities of Black Diamond and Turner Valley.

Just as these two proud towns came together to create something stronger and more vibrant, this piece celebrates the beautiful union of two exceptional elements: the organic, flowing beauty of solid spalted maple wood and the bold, grounding presence of black resin and genuine black leather.

The dramatic spalted maple slab, with its natural ink-like zone lines and live-edge contours, represents the unique character and history each community brings. Bold black resin fills the voids and cracks, seamlessly binding imperfections into striking contrasts – much like the merger that joined Black Diamond and Turner Valley into one resilient whole. Double-sided black leather straps add a luxurious, tactile accent, symbolizing strength, craftsmanship, and the enduring connection between the parts.

The natural creases and folds in the leather evoke the foothills landscape where Diamond Valley nestles, reminding us how two great things can join to form something even greater – a true diamond in the rough, polished to perfection.
