From new home décor and a redesigned website to The Studio Journal, a Western Living Industrial Design finalist nomination and our return to Spruce Meadows.
It may have seemed a little quieter from the outside, but the studio has been full of activity.
Alongside the everyday joy of designing, building and creating, we have been working on several exciting additions and developments that we are finally ready to share.
Here is a little of what we have been up to.
1 - Western Living Finalist for Industrial Design
We were incredibly honoured to learn that Taddei Studios has been named a finalist in the Industrial Design category of the 2026 Western Living Designers of the Year Awards.
Western Living celebrates some of the most talented designers, architects and makers across Western Canada, so being recognized among this group is especially meaningful to us.
Our work has always followed its own path. We design pieces that balance function with sculptural form, celebrate the natural character of their materials and bring something unexpected into a space.
Being recognized for that approach is both humbling and encouraging. It reinforces something we have always believed: original design does not have to follow what is familiar or conventional. It can have personality, take a few risks and still feel timeless.
The winners will be announced at the Western Living Designers of the Year Awards night on September 10. Being named a finalist is already an incredible honour, but we would certainly love to hear our name called.

2 - A Better Website Experience
One of our largest undertakings has been creating an entirely new Taddei Studios website.
We wanted the experience of visiting our website to be as considered as the pieces themselves: easier to navigate, more enjoyable to explore and more helpful when choosing something for your home.
The new site allows you to move more naturally between our furniture, lighting, lampshades, home décor and accessories. You can explore materials, finishes, dimensions and available options while seeing how different pieces might work within a room.
We also wanted the website to offer inspiration, rather than simply function as an online catalogue.
Whether you are looking for one distinctive piece, comparing wood finishes, considering a patterned lampshade or gathering ideas for a more personal home, the new website is designed to make the experience easier and more engaging.
Our work is often best understood through its details: the shape of a sculptural base, the grain of solid wood, the unexpected pairing of a fabric and finish, or the way one original piece can give an entire room its character. The new website gives us more space to share those details and help you discover what speaks to you.
3 - Introducing The Studio Journal
We have also launched The Studio Journal, our new newsletter devoted to thoughtful, approachable ideas about living with good design.
We wanted to create something genuinely worth opening.
The Studio Journal is an editorial extension of the way we think about homes and interiors. It is a place to share ideas about developing your own design sense, choosing pieces with character and creating rooms that feel collected rather than overly coordinated.
You can expect practical articles about mixing furniture styles, combining different wood tones, choosing lighting, working with pattern and colour, and understanding how one thoughtfully selected piece can change the feeling of an entire room.
We will also share occasional studio news, new-product introductions and upcoming events, but the heart of The Studio Journal is design inspiration and useful advice for creating a home that feels personal, interesting and entirely your own.
4 - Introducing Home Décor and Accessories
In addition to our handcrafted furniture, original lighting and custom lampshades, we have been creating a new collection of home décor and accessories.
It is a natural addition to what we already do: taking beautiful materials and turning them into distinctive, useful objects for the home.
Our first pieces include handcrafted solid-wood valet trays and sculptural wood table runners, with more ideas already taking shape in the studio. Although smaller in scale than our furniture and lighting, they are created with the same attention to material, form, function and detail.
These are the pieces that add something special to a table, dresser, console or bedside. They are useful, but they also bring warmth, texture and personality to the everyday corners of a home.
As with everything we make, the collection will continue to grow as creativity sparks new ideas. We are not interested in producing accessories simply to fill a category. Each piece must feel original, purposeful and unmistakably Taddei Studios.
5 - Returning to the Spruce Meadows ‘Masters’
We are also preparing to return to the Spruce Meadows ‘Masters,’ taking place September 9–13.
This is our largest display of the year, with almost every part of the Taddei Studios collection represented in one open, inviting space.
We will be bringing handcrafted benches, chairs, coffee and accent tables, original floor and table lamps, custom lampshades, and pieces from our growing home décor and accessories collection.
Seeing our work online is one thing, but experiencing it in person is entirely different. At the ‘Masters,’ you can see the wood grain and finishes up close, feel the materials, sit on the furniture, appreciate the scale of the lighting and explore how different pieces work together.
It is also one of our favourite opportunities to meet the people who follow our work.
We have had so many memorable conversations at Spruce Meadows—with homeowners searching for something distinctive, designers looking for the right piece for a project and visitors who simply stop because something has caught their eye.
You will find us once again in the Equi-Plex, in one of the large, open display spaces near the entrance. With almost our entire collection gathered together, you should have no trouble finding us.
There is still plenty happening behind the studio doors, and we look forward to sharing more with you in the months ahead.
